What's Included?

Picture and Text Cards 36 2"x2"  (17 winter picture cards, 17 matching text cards, 2 adorably illustrated "happy winter" cards). Suggested activities include picture-to-word matching, picture-to-picture matching, "Winter Bingo" or "Winter Go-Fish"

See and Write Winter Vocabulary Worksheet This worksheet contains the same pictures introduced in the activity cards. It makes for wonderful follow up task.

Cut and Paste Winter Sentences 2 worksheets (a) boy building a snowman and (b) girl drinking hot chocolate. At the bottom of each picture are scrambled words. Encourage students to cut the words and build a simple sentence.

Answer "wh" Questions 3 worksheets each depicting illustrations of a child engaging in a winter activity (throwing a snowball, building a snowman , drinking cocoa) with a simple sentence beside the illustration. Below each picture sentence are simple "who?" "did what? "where?"and "when?" questions.

Ask "wh" Questions 2 workheets each depicting kids engaging in a winter activity (girl riding a sled and boys throwing snowballs) Below each picture are "wh" words prompting students to formulate their own questions.

Snowflake Template Encourage student to write their favorite winter word or draw a picture inside the snowflake cut out. Suggestion: Have several students complete the activity, and use as part of a winter scene bulletin board.

Snowball-Shaped Mini Book Included are a title page (I Sense Winter by _______) and 9 snowball shaped writing prompts encouraging students to explore their environment using the five senses ("In the winter I see________" "In the winter I can touch__________" etc). A blank snowball and blank template are included as well.

Build CVC Words File Folder and Worksheet Students match words on scarves to hats with pictures of CVC words. The words on the scarves are cut into 3 pieces to encourage the student to think about each sound as they create a scarf to match each hat.

Build words with S Blends File Folder and Worksheets Students match words on scarves to hats with pictures of words that begin with /s blends/. The words on the scarves are cut into 2 pieces to encourage the student to think about each sound as they create a scarf to match each hat.
